The Embara Channon
The Embara Channon is a 90’ Skiff. Unlike others of her kind, this ship is three hulled, allowing for more stability, space and speed. The Ship carries a crew of 16 in total including 10 sailors, a captain, a minstrel, two cooks and two custodians. Its spacious design allows for its crew and passengers to travel comfortably for extended periods of time over hundreds of miles.
Embara, like all other skiffs is both powered and propelled via magic. The design and function is based on traditional sailing ships. Its three hulls are covered in hardened magewood. The magewood responds to the ambient magic around it by repelling things which get near it, pushing the hulls off of the ground. This has the effect of causing some distortion near the hulls, creating the illusion that the ship travels through an invisible liquid a few feet off of the ground. The magewood is also made particularly strong so as to avoid having to repair it, as getting close enough to do any work on the hulls is a monumental feat of strength. Its sails are crafted of tough canvas enchanted to collect vast amounts of ambient magic and create air currents much like a traditional sail would. The result is that the ship, if outfitted correctly, can travel as fast, or faster, than its water-based counterpart. The Embara can clock a consistent 14 miles/hour in normal magical fields although it can achieve more or less depending on the conditions of the local field.
